(Now this child is placed in the Extended 3-rd Grade Math class – straight from the 1st grade).
We had an awesome event on Saturday, October 8th – with over 30 children & adults participating in the celebration of National Chess Day. I gave a lecture and a simultaneous exhibition on 8 boards. 7 y.o. Brian Belakovsky gave his 1st simultaneous exhibition on 10 (!) boards to kids of his age and older and scored 9 out 10! In addition, we had play time, solving competition, raffle, prizes, FUN & presents for everyone attending.

Anjelina and 13th World Chess Champion, Gary Kasparov

Anjelina and 12th World Chess Champion, Anatoly Karpov

Anjelina and Womenʼs World Chess Champion, Maya Chiburdanidze
Dear Parent,
Did you know studies show children who play chess develop superior logic, memory and analytical reasoning skills?
Did you know these skills can become a success foundation in math, science, finance and numerous other subjects?
My name is Anjelina Belakovskaia and Iʼm a 3-Time U.S. Womenʼs Chess Champion, Woman International Grandmaster, World Champion among students (USSR Team) and Leader of the US Olympic Chess Team.
Iʼve had my share of success not just in chess, but in the world of high finance as well – I graduated from New York University with a Masters Degree in Mathematics in Finance and was a Derivatives Trader with a Fortune 500 Company. My achievements there were featured in “The USA Today” (12/11/01) and written about in “The Wall Street Journal” (12/31/02) and other business publications.
I say that not to brag but to emphasize the role chess can have in helping children to develop their full cognitive potential.
Now In Tucson: The Chess Training Program Responsible
for 8 World Champions
Why is this program so unique?
Your child will experience the core chess training and exercises taken straight from the Botvinnik-Kasparov Chess Academy in the former Soviet Union, where I studied for five years.
The program was extensively tested in the New York City Public Schools, where I taught chess to over 1,000 students for over five years. Additionally, itʼs supplemented by decades worth of my own experience from tournaments around the world against the strongest competition.

Anjelina and her chess students from P.S. 217, Brooklyn, N.Y. after the tournament
Your child will not only grow in strength and understanding of chess in my small, intimate classroom setting, designed to encourage critical thinking, but will receive weekly homework assignments to build a lifelong foundation of chess strategy, intuition and confidence.
Space in these classes is extremely limited because of the nature of this program and enrollment is now open for the Winter Session.

Anjelina, Coach of the US Team at the World Youth Championship in Cannes, France 1997 helps 9-yr old Hikaru Nakamura (now GM and the strongest US born player since Bobby Fischer) to analyze his game. Behind is 9 y.o. Shirley Ben-Dak – Anjelina’s student who qualified to play in the Girls U-10 section

TESTIMONIALS
Gail Baptiste (Principal; P.S. #308, Brooklyn) “Anjelina has been working at our school for the past several months, and has done an excellent job teaching chess for us. She is a very professional teacher who has put a lot of thought and effort into the way she presents her lessons, and has very good classroom management technique. Her lessons captivate the students and teachers alike. The lessons and tests Anjelina uses are designed not only to teach the game of chess, but to benefit the students thinking, planning, and strategic skills. We here at P.S. #308 can highly recommend Anjelina to anyone who is interested in starting a chess program in their school.”
Helene Yavneh (2nd grade teacher; P.S. #308, Brooklyn) “If success can be measured by enthusiasm, then judging by the children’s excitement when Ms. Belakovskaia comes to teach chess, and their desire to continue playing when her lesson with them is over, “CHESS PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN” by Anjelina Belakovskaia has, indeed, been very successful.”
Bob Doyle “Ms. Belakovskaia’s presentation was absolutely wonderful. That she was a woman, an intellect, creative and bright, enhances the fact that there is never, ever a substitute for intelligence and style. Whenever we expose children to such competence we do them a great service.”
Dr. Jon Maksik “I was very impressed with Anjelina Belakovskaia’s presentation to our students. Ms. Belakovskaia spoke for nearly an hour to students of varied ages and chess experience. She was vital, compelling and personable; the students were riveted. I would be delighted to have her return to The Community School whenever she is able to do so and I recommend her, without reservation, to other schools.”
